Bob Crooks is one of Britain’s most highly recognised leading glassmakers. Renown for the high quality, skilfully executed dynamic forms and surfaces, he has been producing over the last twelve years. Continuously thinking of original and challenging ideas. His work has been exhibited at International level and in noted exhibitions in Italy, China, Scandinavia, Australia and the USA, alongside many exhibitions at home in the UK.
Each piece is designed, handmade and finished by Bob. No moulds are used to create the forms or surfaces achieved.
The pieces are inspired by Geometry, Architecture, the Natural and Man-made worlds we live in as well as the qualities and capabilities of the glass itself: Throughout the variety of the work, Bob exploits the many properties of the material through refraction or reflection; sharpness or softness, transparency or opacity, working with it’s fluidity and ‘freezing’ it as the desired form is realised.
Within the range of production work made, Bob has consciously developed work that is, because of the nature of different applications, a one-off it is not possible to make two pieces identical.
Kinki Glass is located in rural Shropshire within the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge Gorge. This is a family owned British company run by glass artist and designer Nikki Williams.
At the heart of Kinki Glass lies the ethos of designing and creating beautiful contemporary pieces by combining elegant, dynamic form with vibrant, intense colour. All pieces are made by hand using traditional hot glass techniques.
Colour is the most exciting aspect of glass making, allowing the vibrancy and transparency of the colours to shine, all our pieces are bright and full of glorious colour, including dichrioic flashes, silver and gold.
Loco Glass has a fresh and innovative approach to glassmaking, whether it be special commissions, interior accessories or production runs of functional pieces.
We aim to make work that is forward thinking, exciting glass for the modern interior with an emphasis on creative design and skilled craftsmanship.
Each piece is hand blown without the use of moulds, and made in their characteristic style, using a variety of both traditional and modern techniques.
Loco is the creative partnership formed by Colin and Louise Hawkins. Together they have been designing and making for over ten years. With the help of a talented team of glassmakers and assistants they handblow their glass at the studio, based within the recently refurbished New Brewery Arts Centre in the Cotswolds.
Stephen Lindars & Léona Lindars work in partnership as sly glass, designing and producing a unique style of modern studio glass. Each piece is conceived, made and finished entirely by them. This ensures a very high quality and a desirable exclusivity.
Central to their artwork is a collection of blown and hand formed glass bottles, bowls and vases. Steve and Léona also produce a range of interior, design led work which includes etched screens, windows and mirrors. Also glass door knobs and a system of pendant lighting.
A range of kiln formed wall panels and bowls adds a new and exciting element to the work of slyglass.
Gary and Annette McMillan of Stonegate Glass Studio and Gallery produce a wide range of quality handmade kilnformed glass from large scale wall-mounted artworks to smaller bowls, mirrors and coasters.
Our emphasis is on strong design with a love of bold form and colour. All the work we produce is available to buy from our gallery which is next to the glass studio.
