About Us

Annette and Gary McMillan met in 1990 at the University of Wolverhampton studying for a BA (Hons) in Glass Design.

Initially Gary worked as a glass blower in Ambleside in the Lake District and Annette worked as a metal worker doing forging and sculptural work as well as stained glass.

In 2001 they started their own business designing and making contemporary stained glass windows and fused glass artworks for offices, restaurants and public and private collections.

They opened Stonegate Glass Studio in 2007 and in 2009 they opened a gallery in Low Bentham adjacent to their workshop, not only as a showcase for their own work, but as a place to show art and craft from the best of British designers and craftspeople.

In 2016 Gary and Annette relocated the studio and Gallery to the pictureque village of Ingleton on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.

Previous clients have included, Thurland castle, Brabners Solicitors, Nokia, Lakeland Ltd, Heathcotes Restaurants, St. Michael's Church, Washington, Aquarium of the lakes, Grant Thornton Accountants, The Green Awards and Liverpool Hope University as well as other numerous private, corporate and public commissions.
